I am making the most of the weather by writing this sat outside on our bench, looking down the valley, cup of tea in hand and favourite music playing on the laptop.
I admit I haven’t posted as much as I had hoped to in the last couple of months. So, here ( in no [...]
I am really proud to say that I have managed to grow garlic! I’ve never grown it before and it makes me smile every time I look at it hanging up in the kitchen above the wine…. feels very french!
Well it’s been a bit of a day today, I started the day at 5.30am when Inigo awoke and wouldn’t go back to sleep, but I’ve just finished it by finding our first strawberry in the green house! I wolfed it before I got out of the green house…. shameful I know, but delicious. [...]
Sounds daft, but I am starting to think about what I can sow that will help see me through the coming winter. I know I will have a glut of crop soon… but it’s then what to do next. An article from ‘Real Men Sow’ Blog made me start to think about it…. I am [...]

The cage seems to have held despite what look like a couple [...]

So whilst walking around the gardens we happened upon a very beautiful Magnolia, just next to a very soothing stream. The Magnolia [...]
News from Nickers in Germany, she has manged to get growing … despite alll the heavy snow they’ve had in Munich! Well done Nickers, would love to see more photos. By the way… what are in those seed trays?
Digging, sowing, planting, watering, tending, pruning, tying up, cutting back… all these things take time and effort, but for what? why all this effort? Why use up precious hours doing all of this. Well I think this evening’s pudding may just have shown me the light.
This evening Han, Amos, Inigo and I all ate [...]
